A little detour can be extra nice.  It's something we used to do all the time in Europe.  Being back in America there is so much of a rush... something needs to get done, some place needs to get stopped by...

Well, there really was no need to drive to the bay for the best chowder I have ever had, but it was definitely worth the while!

Where: The Nantucket located under the Carquinez bridge.
What: Fish n Chips with slaw; chowder with Caesar salad and bread, cherry coke.
Who: me and my hubster. he spoils the shit outta me always! i want it, he gives it! :-)
When: Tuesday! my favorite day of the week!

Wearing:  H&M dress, Qupid Sandals, Michael Kors Grayson bag in Vanilla.

A smooth shave is always in style

Finally, my dad took advantage of the gift card a bought him a couple Father's Days ago for Roosters Men's Grooming Center in Roseville.  He got a signature old fashioned 7-step shave and I am glad he enjoyed it!  It's a mens facial, massage and shave with a straight razor!

My dad said he really enjoyed it as it was his first time ever getting any type of facial.  Us girls are totally spoiled so I think this is a great thing to treat a special guy in your life to.  The hot steam towels, essential oils with the nice aromas and the facial massage is extra nice.  He said the shave was super close; absolutely no hair on his face.  Made him feel like he had his 12 year old boy face again!

Love you, Dad! And good luck on your exam... maybe we will treat you to another guys pampering session soon... but I think we need a more manly word than "pampering"... you did just get shaved with a straight blade! :-)

Outfit: Superhero love

I have outfit posted on my instagram with this shirt, and I love the thing, but it really needed something extra... if you think the Lichtenstein super POW isn't something enough on it's own.  I found this great comic strip bandeau and immediately knew I had to muscle up the POW factor and hack off the sleeves and make it nice and breezy.

I don't know if this outfit is too juvenile but I love it and am getting away with it while it's still heat-waving out here.

Want to know the source of all my power?  Super-sized coffee! Muuuuahahahahaha!!!! Maniacal Laaaugh!

Dress bright my friends!

What I wore:
DIY'd POW tee from F21.
Bandeau from F21.
Skirt from F21 (old)
Wedges from Kohls.
Bracelets from Charming Charlies, Kohls.

Haul: Charlotte Russe, H&M, Planet Beauty

I don't normally do the "haul" posts, but I thought I would try.  I went on a quick little shopping trip and found some goodies that I am kind of happy about.  Shopping lately has been interesting because I am thinking forward and possibly finding items that may be versatile if I were to find a job.  It's hard to ignore all the crop tops and cute shorts when it's 100 degrees out, but I think I am doing ok.
I found some pieces that I don't have anything like, which is always my goal, although I am always drawn to black n white, stripes, neon, cobalt blue.  I am relentless with those colors.

I am loving the leggings that are coming out... I don't know if I mentioned in one of my previous posts, but I found some really cool ones at Charlotte Russe in a graphic mixed tribal print and then some higher waisted ones in a faux leather which I think I will wear a lot.  I love various textures and I can forsee wearing them with silky tops or thicker knits when the weather cools off.

The dresses and skirts were from H&M.  The dresses are great colors, soft jersey knit and I think could be dressed more conservatively with a nice blazer and heels, or with some fun sandals and cute accessories.  The neon circle skirt is for fun!!  Although I am curious how acceptable neon is in the business world.

I had to stop at Planet Beauty and get some conditioning treatments for my hair.  Processed and heat treated hair is what I got and must deal with on the daily.  The AVA oil is incredible!

I also did some closet rearranging and am happy that I finally have some more space in my office closet.  I moved all of my dresses into that closet and now have more room in my walk-in for tops and skirts.

Before:  A jumbled dress mess, mashed up against tops and long skirts.

After:  Dresses all organized and hung according to color.

I love when things are organized.  It makes getting dressed and shopping so much easier.

Outfit: Ladadee da-dee

I just can't stop blogging! As much as I want to get away from the computer and the narcissism  that comes along with creating and wearing and then photographing to blog what I think are great outfits, it's just too much fun! It's a mental party for me!
So I am back and here to stay!
And I am done "saving" good outfits.  Do you ever do that?  Not wear something because you feel like you are "wasting" a good outfit because nobody is going to see it? Another good thing about blogging! No wasting of the good outfits!

I love love LOVE this skirt.  It was a birthday shopping trip gift from mi madre and I want to wear it a million times in a million ways.  The funny thing was that Love Culture used this textile in a dress that looked utterly TERRIBLE on me and I was so upset about it. Low and behold! They put it into an easy peasy circle skater skirt!  I am loving the crop top, but hear me out when I say I KNOW I am in my late twenties now... is it appropriate to wear a crop top? Maybe so, maybe not.  Wearing this loose version makes the crop thing a bit more tame.  It also helps on a day that  it's 95 degrees outside to be able to wear something loose.

My newly labeled styling philosophy: casual with character!  A term a read in one of my favorite blogger's blogs The Blonde Salad.  In case you didn't already know, if I could trade closets with anyone in the entire world, it would be Chiara Ferragni's.   I feel like this outfit, and most of my outfits embody that style ethic... not sure if that's the right word.  Philosophy perhaps?  Skirt, top, sandals... simple enough.  BUT, check out those sandals, skirt and top! Character for sure!

I also want to take a moment to introduce you to my new hair color!  I like it! It's lighter and warmer than anything I have had in a long time and I am loving it.  I think it's a nice break from being a dark and mysterious type... I had raven black hair for years.  I didn't think I could pull off the lighter brown but I am working with it for sure!

What I wore:
H&M crop top... old!
Skirt from Love Culture.
MIA sandals
Necklace from F21.
Rosegold watch from Charming Charlies.
