One Year!

Once upon a time….

Totally kidding! Hahaha… actually it all started at Buzznet in June 19, 2009.  I was a reader of a lot of buzznet blogs, like Audrey Kitching’s, Jeffree Star’s, HannaBeth’s, etc… mostly scenester goth punk stuff… I had been writing blog posts on my myspace before that and then starting posting on both myspace and Buzznet, and then eventually just Buzznet, and then Buzznet and THEN my world opened up to Blogger starting on April 21, 2010.  I had been reading a lot of blogger blogs and decided to switch formats for both readership audience and convenience.

Looking back, there has definitely been an evolution, but I still see myself throughout all of it.  I write about what happens to ME, what I like, who I live my life with, what I eat, where I go, what I buy, what I want.  I think blogging has been one of the most selfish, yet self-defining things I have ever done in my life and I am okay with that.  It is my journal, my open book of self-discovery and introspection.

I think I have become a bit more censored in my postings after making the move to Blogger.  Blogging on Buzznet I don’t think I took it so seriously and there was a kind of rawness to what I put up there.  With blogger I think I refined what I posted and self-edited and that is okay.  It’s always good to edit.  I think it is easier to get caught up in other peoples’ trends and creativity though, being on blogger and having such an extensive blogroll that I read through every day.  I need to try to always be myself and make sure my own interpretation of things gets out the way I need to express them.  I love how blogging has made me want to document my life and pay more attention to the way things look and feel and makes my brain try harder to describe everything.  It is so fun and it helps me define my life and why I love it.

The negatives of blogging… I log waaaay too many hours at the computer.  I need to disengage from technology a little more often.

My hopes for the next year:  come up with more structured posts… I want to have a game plan… something bigger and better!   Be more involved in the blogging community, particularly in the Sacramento area… I want to meet more people who love doing what I do!

I went back through my posts and chose some of my favorite moments in my blog this past year… so be ready for photo overload!

I hope you enjoyed my little yearbook!  So many great memories of fashion, food, family and friends.
I want to thank anyone and everyone who reads my posts!  I appreciate all the comments and just knowing people read and care makes me motivated to continue posting, even though I know in the blogging world the most important reason you blog is for yourself... it is still flattering to gain readership.  I love my life and I love sharing!  And I cannot wait to share more!

I wanna thank my husband most of all for taking almost all of my photos and reading all of my blogs, even though he doesn't care one whit about women's fashion and styling... he loves me! and I am a lucky girl because of him :-)

xoxo...
