Outfit: Valentine

Make an effort to strike a pose between comfortable and sexy.  I am so mixed up on what to wear most days, it ends up being jeans, tee and Vans or Uggs, which is fun and easy, but if you know me, you know how much I love to dress different all the time!
Valentine's day was interesting because I had some pink and red items, but wasn't quite feeling them that morning....
So I went with my best Angelina Jolie Oscars 2013 impression and went for sexy.

I think the pink lips and the mixed media necklace makes it more fun as well.  My hubs thought I looked sexy so that's a plus :-)  I have a feeling I am going to get a lot of use out of this skirt through spring and summer!

What are you looking forward to wearing this next season?
What kind of items make you feel sexy?

Outfit: Rock n Roll Date Night

Let me tell you something.... you can still go on dates, get butterflies in your tummy, and totally swoon for your love after you get married! It never has to stop.  But, do your part: plan it out, make an effort, and dress sexy sometimes!!  make him swoon over why and how he went after you.  I must say that my husband makes me feel sexier now than ever before, which is awesome!!

He doesn't normally go on my shopping escapades, but he did vote for me to try on and BUY this little number, which I know I never would have if he did not encourage it (can't wear a bra?! aaaack!).
It. Is. Sexy.  And rock n roll, and punky and Betsy and SJP/Carrie Bradshawish and I totally dig it now!

Tips for wearing something out of your comfort zone:
Make everything else comfortable... the shoes, tights, good hair and make-up and having my strong hubs near me made this cleavage-tastic dress much more tolerable to wear.

Location, location, location.  We went to a rock concert and a bar! I felt neither over nor underdressed.

Be prepared for stares.  Yes, if you wear a dress like this, you will get people looking at your chest. Deal with it.  Fashion is fun!

Have confidence!  I know you think having a fashion blog means I am confident in all I wear, but honestly, everyone gets a little shy sometimes.

What I wore:
Dress from Love Culture.
Tights from F21.
Boots, bought in Germany.

PS.... Who could turn this hunka'burnin' love down?!

Highlights and hopes

It's a new year and I am so excited for what is to become of it!
2013 Was INCREDIBLE...
I graduated college, found the start of a career, gained so much in knowledge, relationships and experience.  My home has new floors, my daughter can read, my husband finished his military career and is now onto new challenges with college and law enforcement opportunities.
We gained new friends, lost some old...
Traveled a little, but not enough.
Read some, but not enough.
Wrote a bit, but I have more to share.
I gained a new pet.
I have some new camera equipment.
The purse collection has grown.
My hair is lighter.

2014 is going to hold some surprises I think... and ones I am hopeful about.  We have some great travels planned, and I have to say that traveling is my biggest resolution and fun hope...
When we lived in Europe we traveled and tripped all over, at the drop of a hat.  I miss those days immensely sometimes.  I think our wanderlust stemmed from our solitude and desire for adventure.  Upon moving back to the United States we felt so excited.  We want to see more of California... more of America, our homeland.  We aimed to journey with family and trip around with friends, which we have done and hope to do plenty more of... however, I miss my little trio taking some random and fun adventures.

I was able to buy my husband presents this year bought with my own earnings, and I was very happy to do so.  I bought him a new GPS unit so that he can continue to drive our family wherever we may choose to roam.

I'll be posting more often! It's been a busy few months of transition with a new job, then the holidays.  I am still in passion with fashion and even more excited about some new photography projects!

I'll be back before you know it!

Outfit: Here Kitty

I love anything graphic, black, rock n roll!

Most days I have to dress classy and professional, which I think is awesome, but sometimes I miss dressing with my edgy fun stuff.  I just have to make more of a point to do it.  So many new things going on in our lives right now... jobs, school, changes in our home... changes are great, especially when the changes are positive. Just don't forget to still be yourself!

How was your Thanksgiving and Black Friday?
I was sick. Sick sick oh so sick... but I got to be with my family and the food was amazing.
I missed out on Black Friday shopping, but honestly, there isn't much I want or need. I have been so fulfilled!

The Best Anniversary Yet!

It was last month but I must post about our amazing anniversary.  My husband and I have always been adventurous and always love traveling, but to travel and not have anything to do other than relax and enjoy each other... THAT was a treat!
Last year on our anniversary, we were apart due to his deployment, so being together this year was automatically a step up!
My mom watched Aveline for us so we could take a quick weekend trip through San Francisco - for a quick stop in Chinatown, Pacifica - where we stayed the night, and through Napa - where neither of us had been.

Good food, even better drinks, beautiful sights and sites of California, all with the man of my dreams.  I am so blessed to have him in my life and I can't wait to spend all of it with him forever more!

Life update!

Oh my gosh!!  Just as I was so hyped up about getting back on the blogging wagon, life started happening!  Job hunting was like a snowball effect... once I started with the applications and interviews and registering on job websites and beyond... it didn't stop until... until... UNTIL... I landed a position I am so excited about!!
So, that's where I have been at. WORK... I am a banker... and I have vault keys, business cards, I wear nice shoes and lots of slacks and blazers now.

Life is going pretty swell.

The tides have turned!

September 13 2006... I had to quit and leave my job to relocate.  It wasn't feasible for me to find a new job when I was already a few months pregnant.

September 12, 2013 I get the offer on a job I was really hoping for.  My husband is in the process of finishing his military service honorably and being able to move onto a new career, hopefully in a civilian service of sorts.  So basically to the exact DATE, 7 blessed years later, after being a mom, traveling the world, earning my degree, and buying a home, dog, cat, cars, etc... we are turning the page!

I look forward to what is to come!  I can't wait to be a working girl - a business woman... someone who will do her best to make a difference and prosper and be successful.  I want to put my degree, my communication skills, and my past experience to use in building a foundation for a possible career.
My mind is racing with a million things right now.  Of course, figuring out what I need to wear!  But more importantly...

My anniversary is coming up!  We are taking a fun little trip somewhere, courtesy of my wonderful, over-spoiling mom!

Here are my quick business headshots my husband took of me.

These black and white shots I like to call my future "book jacket photos"!! I can still dream of being published, right?!

I wore these pearl earrings to every interview I had... and I probably had about 7 within a week.

xoxo...
