Outfit: Perhaps Peruvian

Inspiration for words is lacking today, so just go along with me for the moment...

I have a strange infatuation with food items that are green... Like green ice cream cones! I know it's just food coloring, but seriously, I love it!

Uuuugh, so what's new that I can tell you guys about????  My hair is back to black! finally... there was something not so hott about dingey, mottled blackish brown... I prefer my hair raven black!

I don't know about you guys, but I totally loved my outfit.  It was mega hot out for a while, it thunderstormed and rained for a day and then Wednesday was awesomely temperate... so I took the opportunity to wear pants and a blazer.

Like the bag?! I thrifted it and I LOVE it... I love every color on it, the pattern, the size... everything... 2 bucks well spent!  My mom seems to think it is from South American origins... at first I thought Southwestern, but the patterns and tooling on the leather does look more South American... I imagine it being from Peru! Do you ever revolve an entire outfit around one little accessory?  That was my outfit today!

And everyone, I don't know if I have introduced Miss Keara to you all... but she has been one of my bestest best of best friends forever and she is so beautiful and the sweetest person in the world and a faithful reader of my blog as well... I want to share her with ya'll!

We met up at Cost Plus today and checked out some goodies for my upcoming birthday tea party...

I got something super fun going on tomorrow I cannot wait to tell you guys about, but we'll see how it all goes first!

(No, we are not eating knodel at my tea party... it was one of the few German things they had there.  And as for Spotted Dick - I didn't know it was like bread pudding with raisins! With what meal would you eat it?)

What I wore:
Thrifted blazer, suede booties, tribal bag, pants that I had custom tailored.  Tank from Target. Accessories from F21, COACH, etc....

ps... what are your plans for Independence Day!?

Edit: This was to get posted last night, but blogger was being a bitch!

Lake Tahoe last weekend

Hello my darlings...
Has it really been almost 4 whole days without a post?
I am a terrible blogger...
Been having fun, mixed with work, mixed with boringish outfits, mixed with revamping my look a little bit.

My brother was in town, and for his birthday we went up to Lake Tahoe's Northstar resort and North shore to have some fun.  I didn't snap my usual zillion pics... instead I let my Aveline take a turn with the point-and-shoot and photograph some of the beautiful scenery that is up there...

Here is my beautiful girl, and the world through her lens for a few minutes;

Auntie Jillian's purse

pretty water

awesome rocks

my shoes

giant ant

cool steps

the flowers

the sky

the truck

Here are a few pics from me!

It was a happy birthday for my brother and for all of us to enjoy such a beautiful day in a beautiful place.

We ate somewhere that GUY FIERI ate at, and gave his stamp of approval!!!! OMG nomnomnomnom!!!  he did an episode of DD&D there and it was amazing... we are going back... it's a burger place in Truckee called Burger Me!

I didn't get any pics of my delish burger beeeecaaaause...
I stuffed it all in my facehole where it belonged! WHAAAAAMP!!!

I will update more soon... there was a lot going on and more stuff a'comin' up!

Outfit: Floral Friday

I wanna call this my Betty Draper backyard look... vintage floral, concealed yet accentuated in the "right" spots... I definitely want to be more Joan or even Peggy than Betty, but more and more I find that I gravitate to the Betty Draper styles of things...
Who do you like better?

Trying to put on the "bored, bitchy, Betty" face...

What I wore:
Vintage dress. H&M sandals. Accessories from F21. Wayfarers from Nordstroms.

Enjoy your weekend people!  I am going to be celebrating my little brother's birthday with him being in town!  Yay!

Outfit: B & B & B & B

B:  Black dress

B: Blue phone

B: BCBG sandals

B: xB

So what do you think?  This is one of my favorite kinds of outfits, especially on a 100 degree day: super simple with fun details, like my new BCBG jellies!!!  And check out Dorothy, our new car... yup... we are on team Scion now.  It is kind of my husband's father's day present and new ride to commute to work with... I might get to drive it here and there.

Anyways... excited to cool off up in Tahoe tomorrow!

What I wore:
Black dress from F21. Longchamp bag.  BCBG sandals.  Sunglasses from Ebay.

Birthday Wishlist: MK bag

Between my family and friends there are a LOT of birthdays between June and August... Including my own!

I am like a total little kid when it comes to birthdays... I love presents and cake and parties... it should be one's most celebrated holiday of the year!

My birthday is in a few weeks and I honestly do not have too much planned... I am hoping to have a tea party with my friends and fam.
Last year I got super spoiled... I got Uggs, Chuck Taylors, a load from F21, a trip to Munich and Legoland, and a birthday dinner and party.  This year I think will be more mellow considering we are about to buy a house!  And I am more than OK with that.
What is on my wishlist though (i always have a wishlist!)?  A dress for my tea party, some French macarons if they can be found... aaaaaand maybe:  A Michael Kors bag!!!

So I have two options that I am considering:

The Hamilton Tote
The Edie Tote
Both supple black leather. Both have gold hardware. Both have top handles as well as a should strap.  Both are large enough to carry my daily goods as well as my camera that I tote around most days.  Both look expensive and are extremely well made.

Pros for the Hamilton are that it is classic, elegant, timeless, clean cut.  It can be worn with a dressy outfit as well as glam up jeans and a tee.  It makes me think of the Hermes Birkin or the Chanel flap bag, in the sense that it is the MK signature bag.  It is on the larger side though and it is a little heavy..

Pros for the Edie are that it is comfortable, a little more edgy, which I think my style is a little edgier at times.  It is a bag that just looks good and feels good to carry.  The price point is higher probably because of the additional hardware and buckles which makes it worth more I would think.

This is a pretty major purchase for me.  It will definitely be the most expensive bag I will own probably for a looong time.  I wrote a blog not too long ago about wanting a staple, classic, black leather purse that I can mix into my wardrobe.  I am trying to not be so frivolous in my shopping and I have been slacking on my "get-chic" mission being able to hit up a real mall and all the great discount stores and thrift stores.  I have been getting some great staple pieces as well though.  But I am trying to get back on track! And I think a gorgeous, quality, luxury piece like one of these would be an amazing birthday gift!

I am getting off track.
Which do you think I should ask my husband to buy me?
And where do you think I can find an awesome tea party dress?!

Meet Alma Green

Hello lovelies...

This week is going great so far, and it's only Dienstag! Tuesday, that is... My brother is in town and I am loving hanging out with him every chance I get.  He is in the Air Force and is stationed in Missouri so it is a rare occasion that we are together.
We spent the day at the pool and then went out to BJ's Brewery for dinner.

Me and my "little" brother.  Isn't he handsome?!

His birthday is on Friday so we are trying to do all the fun stuff he wants to do this week.

I love this dress... even though the fit on it is a little strange, the colors are awesome! And I decided to match it up with my vintage green Alma-esque bag!  This bag is so simple and classy looking.  It is the same shape as the Louis Vuitton Alma and it is surprisingly nice to carry.  I love the combination of Alma and Green... it sounds like a pretty southern girl's name.  Maybe I have a new alias... Alma Green! She loves sweet tea and dresses and lots of blush.

LOVE this bag... I think if I get a LV it will either be a Speedy or an Alma.

I also had to take a picture with my mum this evening! She looked gorgeous as usual... she doesn't even have to try to look amazing... I try way too hard sometimes.

What I wore:
Dress from TJ Maxx, BCBG wedges. Vintage purse.
