Truck Stop: Sacramento 49'er Silver Skillet

So I have this RIDICULOUS obsession with diners and diner food.  I love it all... I could never be a vegetarian because diner food is in no way vegan or veggie friendly (that I can think of besides french fries and ketchup)...

SO, henceforth... made a dinner stop at the locally famous Silver Skillet which is the diner at the 49er Truck Stop along Interstate 80 westbound...
lemme tell ya, peoples, I was not disappointed!  It's so fun to start re-exploring Sacramento and surrounding areas and I will be sure to continue to blog about my adventures throughout!

For the food porn: super nachos, delish kids burger, salisbury steak with potes and gravy! also came with the creamy tomato soup and a side of hot green beans and garlic toast.  Jorden got the Monte Cristo: ham, cheese, turkey sandwich, dipped in waffle batter and then DEEP FRIED! dip in strawberry sauce... wowza!

My friend Natalie joined us... she is awesome! LOVE her.  She is also a nor-cal girl and Sactown native to the core!

I think I have this strange fascination with truck stops now because of all the road traveling we did in Europe and have done going up and down California on the I-5.  This one is awesome in particular because of the amount of trucks, the huge truck wash and the church in a trailer!!  Services there every Sunday!

If you are ever in the area and want some yummy diner grub, stop by the Silver Skillet at 2828 El Centro Rd. in Sacramento!

What I wore:
Gray chambray dress bought at Marshall's.  MIA sandals.  Avii is in an H&M dress and OshKosh sandals (she wanted to do an outfit post too).

xoxo...

  2. Those are the coolest pics ever. I also loooove diners. I am a sucker for authentic hole in the wall restaurants run by a family for ages and have the most amazing tasty comfort food.
    Your daughter is a cutie!
